Put a device in the hands of a Mobian, and the reviews will commence!
Girls gone mobile has posted a very comprehensive review on the HTC Hermes / Dopod 838 Pro. Be sure to get a cup of coffee and a couple of cookies - this review is long with lots of eye-candy pictures! Read it here.
I did a quick search to see if there were other reviews, and sure enough, fellow Mobian Arne Hess’s site, the::unwired, had an early look at the Hermes in July! Read it here. Arne’s review is not Dopod specific, as his unit was branded XDA, but the hardware should be essentially the same.
I also found fellow Mobian Paul O’Brien of MoDaCo’s review of the Hermes (branded Orange SPV M3100). Read it here.
Have you seen any other reviews? Post the links here - I am sure that they’ll be enjoyed by other readers.
Got your snacks? Get reading! And have a wonderful weekend!! ![]()

Interesting how they changed the design of the Hermes to include the Start/OK buttons. A change for the better. Would make one handed use much easier.
Do you find yourself using the device one handed Judie?

Mitchell, the Hermes is very easy to use one-handed - even for someone like me that is conditioned to use two for non-phone functions.
The clickable thumbwheel and all of the additional buttons make a major difference in my opinion. I never had it this easy with the HTC Apache / PPC-6700.

Yeah the Wizard was similar. Good but not great. I actually dropped my Wizard once using it one-handed (caseless no less) and believe me, I thought twice before doing it again.
I am eagerly looking at 3’s phones page every day hoping that they will finally release the dopod 838 Pro. I will wait until your giveaway is over of course.
Cheers!! Considering how long your blog has been going, it is doing great!
