The HTC Excalibur, AKA T-Mobile Dash has been announced today; Engadget already has a review.

Pricing will be set at $199.99 with a two-year contract, $249.99 with a one year contract, and $349 with no contract – quite reasonable!

I was all set to go pick one up today and then read the small detail at the bottom about the 25 October date. Why do all these companies make a big announcement and then have nothing to show for it? People’s interest could wear off in 2 weeks and something more enticing could come along. Why not be like Apple and have the product available when you announce it? It looks like I’ll be sticking with my Nokia E61 and may even pass the Dash by now.

I totally agree!
I had originally written “is available” and then had to edit it about four more times trying to figure out what it was…exactly. Other than a big fat teaser!
I still want to play with one, though!

Thats a pretty sweet device, but I don’t understand why these high end devices still ommit 3G!!!

t-mobile doesn’t have 3g yet. They JUST bought the bandwith for their rollout this past summer, and announced the plans about a week ago.
