This year's wide range of choices does not help. It's like you are standing at the all you can eat buffet of computing, you are hungry, but there are sooo many choices you can decide and you stand there so long the buffet closes without you getting anything. My prediction is the delay of Vista and the reputation of Microsoft OS installations by Ordinary B. Citizen being almost impossible to accomplish will result in a sad Christmas for many compter vendors. We are getting another dose of planned obsolesence and the result is a leary group of consumers that will look for something else this year and wait on that computer purchase until things settle out a little... :)

While not wishing to sound condescending (a relative of Condoleezza?) most consumers have a large confusion index when it comes to PC’s/Mac’s. I have drummed into my family that any time they want to buy a phone, PC, laptop, PDA, whatever, they need to talk to me first. There have been some lemons bought when they haven't.....
Me personally, my parents are buying me a new sound system for my car :D

Choice is good, but for some it is just plain confusing!!
