I’ve had to hear for weeks how much Joel from Geek.com likes his HTC Excalibur / T-mobile Dash. Well, he finally got his review up!
Just teasing, Joel! I know that all good things take a while to do, and he really wanted to put some time in with the Dash before he gave his verdict.
He says,”First, a bit of background: it takes me a long time to find a new device to carry around since I play with dozens each week. That said, I was a loyal carrier of the SP5m until the HTC Hermes (Dopod 838 Pro) came into my life. I liked a lot of things about it (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, slide-out keyboard), but the biggest drawbacks for me were its size and its lack of a tactile keypad for dialing the phone–I had to use the touchscreen to make calls in a pinch. That’s why when I first saw the T-Mobile Dash (otherwise known as the HTC-S620 in Europe, but not too long ago as the Excalibur) I knew that I has to get my hands on it. What surprised me, though, was how quickly it became the phone for me.”
I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
