“Look mom! a pet shop is over there. I wanna see puppies.”

“OK, let’s go to the pet shop… uh… WHAT? it is a … HOTEL???……”

Well… it is a real hotel – Capsule Inn Akihabara.

So, what is a Capsule Hotel?

A Capsule hotel is a unique style of accommodation in Japan, inspired by the pursuit of efficiency of space and functional comfort, originating from the adaptive, creative spirit of the Japanese mind.

Check this link to read about the facilities; each room “has blinds to be drawn for complete privacy. In the capsule unit, amenities like a TV, radio, alarm clock and adjustable lighting are provided. You can control all these devices in a sleeping position, as if you were in a cockpit of an aircraft, or spacecraft.”

The Capsule Unit Room Rates:

Standard Room Rate (Capsule Unit) for men or women:
4,000 Yen (33.9 USD) per night

Free amenities include shavers, a Yukata-like robe, 2 tooth brushes and 2 towels, a hair dryer is available on each floor, and there is a TV in each capsule unit which shows Local and Satellite channels.

This is a quite inexpensive rate to stay in Akihabara Japan, but I wonder if I could sleep well in that capsule room. However, when you are planning to visit Akihabara Japan, don’t forget to experience such a special hotel night.

Since Larry was a child he has always been curious about the world of electronics. Right after reading the biography of the greatest inventor Thomas Edison, he made up his mind to become a person with a high-tech background that would be capable of inventing the greatest products in the world; its not only a goal, but also the dream of his life, a dream that has never died. Larry has spent a lot of time and interest in researching PDA technologies. Besides, keeping up with and studying them, Larry is an administrator of the popular Taiwanese site Palm Is Life (which has well over 36,000 members) and he also has a PDA hardware DIY web site. Larry is always looking for ways to improve the electronics devices, consumer products, even the vehicles he owns, trying to make them even more functional and convenient. He believes that this is the spirit which a high-tech person must have.
