Gift Suggestion #2: For the Person Who Has Everything

Posted on 22 November 2006 by

There is no doubt that many of us who love gadgets are very hard to shop for. We don’t always think to tell our loved ones what accessory we want next; we’ll generally buy it and then hear from our spouses and close friends that they would have got the item for us “if they had only known.”

This can create a dilemma around birthdays and other traditional gift-giving times.

So what do you buy the person that has everything? What do you buy someone with needs so specific that it’s almost a given that whatever you get might be “wrong” because they either already have it, or they won’t use it?

The trick is to buy them something they wouldn’t think of on their own. You should get this type of person something personalized, something that will work with an item they use everyday, and that will make them think of you every time they use your gift.

Here’s a suggestion: Wrappers, which are textile covers for iPods and MacBooks.

The custom made sleeves are personalized, one of a kind, and time is running out to place your order. Take a look at the custom sleeve gallery.

The 14th of December is the cutoff for those needing UK delivery, and the 8th of December is the cutoff for those in the US and other overseas locations. Prices depend upon the device being covered, the materials being used, and any personalization options. You can get started here.

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
