I Want an iPhone

Sleek lines, (what should be) award winning Industrial Design, innovative features.  That’s the main reason why I went with a MacBook Pro…well that and it runs Windows as well as Mac OS (and the OS costs about 1/3 the price of Windows… Yeah, there is that).  What really concerns me is that the device took a while to get to market, and as such, isn’t quite as state of the art as one might hope.  All in good time, though.

I’ve pulled some of these pictures from various sites on the internet (a special thanks to Mobility Today for the picture of the iPhone and the two pieces of corrugated cardboard.  THAT’S a cool picture.)

This baby is thin!

The iPhone is supposed to be thin  or thinner than the MotoQ and Samsung BlackJack.  It would have to be to be thinner than 2 pieces of corrugated cardboard.

The iPhone isn’t much bigger than your everyday 5G iPod

Small and thin.  That’s what I like most about this thing.

Buttons and controls on these devices can’t change

…But the ones on the iPhone can.  Way cool. Hey, Mr. Jobs..?  Can I have one..? :)

Did they talk about eBooks on this thing, Judy? Movies, yes; I can see that. I’m sure movies will look great. Perfect functionality with iTunes, of course. But what about eBooks?

Doug, I would imagine that if Apple doesn’t release the eBooks, there won’t be an easy way to get them on there. Apple is a huge content provider now, as iTunes has proven. This is one of the things that makes me feel reserved about the iPhone. It is beautiful, ground-breaking and will be the answer to many a fanboy & girl’s dreams (said with humor, no sarcasm).

    I’ll wait and see for a bit… :-)

No user replaceable battery. Also requires a 2 year contract with Cingular (even if you have one, you have to extend). Battery life will be a huge issue. Waiting is good.

Somehow someone got a iPhone and posted his unboxing

This is obviously a hoax. Look at the pictures. You can see the lines of the paper taped to the “box” that the “iPhone” came in. Its not even a good job of PhotoShopping…

Oh sure, nitpick the fantasy of iPhone today. :P

I have to say that was one of the funniest spoofs I have seen – great find, Allen! :-)
