isPermaLink="false">http://www.geardiary.com/?p=1932#comment-2693

I'm a new member to this forum but I thought I'd chime in for those of you who saw this review and were thinking about buying a Fujitsu product, and the 4215 specifically. In spite of having owned 5 or 6 laptops in the last few years, I had never thought about a Fujitsu product. About a year and half ago I decided to buy a tablet and settled on the Fujitsu 4010 (the predecessor model to the 4215). In short, it's been fantastic and Fujitsu support has also been excellent. About a year ago I also bought a Fujitsu Scansnap desktop scanner, and my support experience with them has been also excellent, so I think it's more of a corporate commitment thing, not just a single product line.
I use my tablet every day, mostly in normal laptop mode. I travel a lot, and there are 3 things about this PC that are extremely useful if you work "on the move" often. First, overally weight and size of the 4010 (4 lbs, 12" screen) is just about perfect for a notebook that you carry around all the time. The screen is big enough for frequent use, but not so big so as to be too heavy. Second, having the integrated CD/DVD drive is useful (on the 4010 it's not a DVD burner, just a CD-RW/DVD ROM). But it's really great to have the ability to use the CD bay for the extra battery. I just came back from a trip to Hawaii and used the 4010 for over 6 hours of work in "Max Battery" mode in XP. Third, the most useful thing I've found about the tablet is when you're flying in coach, and the person in front of you reclines the seat, you can flip the screen into tablet mode and continue to work. I work a lot with documents scanned into PDF files and it's perfect to read and annotate documents in ACrobat in tablet mode. But, I've also written and edited Word docs, spreadsheets, and Powerpoint presentations in Tablet mode and, while not as fast as typing, it's not bad and better than not being able to use the PC at all in cramped quarters. My only complaint about the 4010 is the speakers are terrible. Hopefully that's been improved on the 4215.
I'll stop there, but if you're thinking about the 4215, I don't think you'll be disappointed based on my experience with the 4010 and Fujitsu as a company. I'd buy from them again in a heartbeat.
PS - In case you're wondering, I have NO affiliation with Fujitsu, I'm just a satisfied customer.

I’m a new member to this forum but I thought I’d chime in for those of you who saw this review and were thinking about buying a Fujitsu product, and the 4215 specifically. I too got hooked on pen computing by using Pocket PC's but quickly got frustrated by the small screen size. I bought a Fujitsu 5020D slate tablet and the experience was so positive that I knew within a day or two of receiving it that my *next* machine would also be by Fujitsu. I wasn't sure whether to go for the 4200 or the 1510, but then Fujitsu went and made my mind up for me by coming out with the 1610, which still has a passive digitizer, but with special palm rejection software that eliminates most of the glitches you described.

I _had_ a Tecra M4 for a while (it's been down since December 7 and in the shop since December 14) and fresh out of the box over 80 processes were running. That gives me renewed respect for a non-tablet device that can have as few as 30 processes running when it's fresh.

What’s running on it out of the box (ctrl-alt-del)?

I _had_ a Tecra M4 for a while (it’s been down since December 7 and in the shop since December 14) and fresh out of the box over 80 processes were running.
