HSDPA is SWEET!!

Posted on 04 February 2007 by

I contacted my carrier Three Australia several weeks ago about the availability of HSDPA on their network. I knew it was coming, but wasn’t sure when.

I received an email from their customer care this morning informing me that HSDPA has been enabling in Brisbane and Sydney (where I live). After installing the HSDPA hack on my Treo 750v, DSL Reports produces this wonderful result on the 1MB test:

hsdpatreo

808kBit/sec with only 2 bars of signal strength!! Websites open so fast, and emails come down even quicker than before. I didn’t know what I was missing!

Will see how it affects the battery life. Hopefully it is only by a little!
