I was afraid of this. I knew it was coming and now the first of what is certain to be a few new Canon DSLR’s is here. Can I resist?
The rumored price is $3999USD, about the same as the current 1D Mark IIN which I own. The specs are impressive. Most notable is 10fps and a new 3″ LCD with live view, a first for a Canon DSLR. It should hit the shelves in April, in case anyone is thinking of getting one!

His primary interests are with Smartphones and more recently, Photography. He was a Unix programmer in the 1980s and wrote assembly for HP proprietary handhelds like the HP71B.
His interest in handheld devices led to being a beta tester for Windows CE (Pegasus), the first incarnation of the Windows Mobile operating system. Jerry’s interest in handheld computing goes all the way back to the HP25 calculator that came out in the mid 1970s and was one of the first programmable calculators.
Oh the humanity. The cannon-y goodness. With that price tag though i will have to stick with our 20 and 30D’s. Not an awful thing for sure but the new 1D Mark 3 sure looks tasty!

Resistance is futile… $4K! Maybe not so futile. Oh well, pity the poor fool who’ll have to stick with his 10D a while longer.
