Lilia, we don't sell anything on this site; we only review available products. I am pretty sure that since the helicopters are made in China, the only way to get support is to buy them through reputable vendors, such as Hobbytron, who will support the products after sale. :-/

Hello,

I bought from people on the street in Edinburgh the AH-64 Apache fly model helicopter. We flied it twice and it went broken. As you are selling the same product, do you know how to contact the people who sells the model? On the box it only says "Made in China".

Old thread but might be useful info. I got the Apache – it rocks … I dont when it comes to the controls.
So I also got the Twister Bell Medevac which allows you to plug its controller into a usb port and use the FMS freeware flight simulator found at : http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.htm…(The Twister Bell manual gives this url).

From what I have read so far it should be possible to reverse the modes on the Twister Bell controller (if necessary) so it can control the Apache simulator and many other models. but whatever it will still allow you to learn how to use the controls to trim and operate your heli without expensive crashes of the real thing

KentuckyRanger: I dont think that the Apache is able to fly inverted. But I could be wrong. I would not try it though either.

I think I need to get the hang of regular Heli’s before I attempt inverted flight, but it’s been in the back of my mind… :O)

KentuckyRanger: I am glad you enjoy the Apache too. It is a fine helicopter. I do have my eye on a more advanced Heli-Max copter now, the only RC helicopter that I know of that allows for inverted flying right out of the box. Do you have the picture of your game pad online somewhere? The link to it should show up in your comment reply. I was looking at getting the G-Pad Pro Gyroscopic USB Gamepad from Thinkgeek as the controller http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/input/9091/ its got all the buttons and more.

You sound like my Twin. I too got the Picco Z last Christmas from my Wife and had a blast with it. It did get boring after a while because control is so very limited but a very impressive tech Toy.
I just ordered the the Apache and found your review on google.
It gave me some good ideas and what to expect when I receive my new gadget.
I went ahead and downloaded the flight simulator and thought I’d give you a Heads up on a cheap realistic control that emulates the Radio very well. Just go to any electronic store or Wal Mart and purchase a cheap game Pad with twin analog Sticks.
I took a picture of mine to show what I’m talking about, I don’t know if this supports HTML but if not, ask me if you aren’t sure and I’ll explain it in more detail.

I’ve always wanted to get a remote control airplane or helicopter. But since I’ve never flown such a device before, I might take your suggestion and look into the starter vehicle: the RC AH-64 Apache RTF 4 CH Electric Helicopter.

Dan: nope you dont have to retrim the Apache after every charge. Once you got the trim settings perfect, thats it! That is until something like the stabilizer weights coming loose… I thought it was the trim, and kept trying to adjust. I then later discovered the loose weight while checking the screws and other joining points. I think this is one of the things to do as a pre-flight check, making sure all the stuff is tight. I forgot to mention that pre-flight check thing.

The controller that comes with the Apache does not appear compatible for connection to a computer for use with a RC flight sim. Currently I am using my keyboard to operate the sim. I have the keys programmed in double + arrangement so I can mimic the left/right and up/down of the actual sticks on the radio… it is as close as possible to the real movements.

I am looking into RC radio interface boxes and possible radio like controllers for the computer to use with RC sims… hopefully will find something soon for a review.

I’ve flown the little brother heli and one of the frustrations I had with it is that you have to retrim it every time you go to fly. Do you have to retrim after every charge on the Apache, too?
