I am a few days late with this – but I still wanted to make sure that I didn’t forget to congratulate Brandon Miniman of pocketnow.com (also a Gear Diary contributor
) and Kevin Tofel of JKOnTheRun; they are among the newest batch of Microsoft’s MVPs! Kevin got his for Tablet PCs and Brandon got his for Mobile Devices. Both awards are very much deserved.
Just to give you an idea of what these guys have to go through to get awarded, here is some info straight from the MVP website:
In order to receive the Microsoft MVP Award, MVP nominees undergo a rigorous review process. Technical community members, current MVPs, and Microsoft personnel may nominate candidates. A panel that includes MVP team members and product group teams evaluate each nominee’s technical expertise and voluntary community contributions for the past year. The panel considers the quality, quantity, and level of impact of the MVP nominee’s contributions. Active MVPs receive the same level of scrutiny as other candidates each year.
Some other Gear Diary friends who were re-awarded this year include James Kendrick of JKOnTheRun, Jack Cook of Mobility Site, Chris Leckness of Mobility Site, Clinton Fitch of Clinton Fitch (Dot) Com! (also a Gear Diary Team member), Jason Dunn of Thoughts Media, Mike Temporale of Smartphone Thoughts, Andrew Shuttlesworth of Pocket PC Japan…and oh gosh, I know I am forgetting someone – so I apologize in advance!
Congrats guys, you rock! Now show us the secret handshake!

Geez… Pretty soon, there’ll be more MVPs than non-MVPs.
Congratulations to all of them!
