My dad and I have had Media Center PCs for about a year now, and we love it. The simplicity of the Media Center interface is amazing, and everything is so organized and easy to use. Several TV tuners coupled with the Guide is a wonderful combination. My MCE box has two HDTV tuners, while my dads has three!
My dad suggested I build and configure a MCE system that I could sell, as several of his friends were quite interested, and prepare a video to demonstrate the major features of a Media Center PC. So for those of you out there who are considering buying a Media Center, or haven’t even thought about it, here is the video I whipped up demonstrating the features and ease of use provided by Windows Media Center.
If you like to watch videos or pictures, listen to your music library, or record a lot of your TV, then a Media Center is the way to go!
Don’t take this as some advertisement for Microsoft, but I have to say that in this instance they really did well. I have found our self-built Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 PCs to be quite stable, and perform their intended functions flawlessly. Certainly much better than some EPGless HDD DVR that doesn’t play video files or photos up on your big screen ![]()
