An Overdue Upgrade…

Buttons was complaining how slow her old Jornada 928 was getting with its Pocket PC 2002 OS and GPRS connection, so she has upgraded to a HTC Universal for a bit more oomph :)

Good for buttons! But I have emotional sentimental value attached with the Jornada 928. It was my first even Pocket PC or “Smartphone” and that I will even admit to have jornada928 as my password for most websites/blogs/email till about a year back.
Sold it after keeping the device only for 1 week though. Got sick of battery issues, low volume on calls, difficulty in smsing (no phone pad SIP) and finally the washed out appearance of the screen compared to the XDA’s

Yeah the screen on it was pretty bad, even back then. Compared to the original XDA it was behind.

    1. The Universal still only has slow GPRS connectivity (unless you live outside the U.S., where you can get UMTS)

    and

    2. The device in the second picture isn’t a Universal. What is it? ;-)

Yep, the UMTS works great here in Australia, although it is noticably slower than HSDPA on my Treo. I have it set to only use UMTS as I pay extra for any use when roaming on GPRS.

And the second device is the Jornada 928.
