A Peek Into the Mind of Palm

Posted on 12 April 2007 by

I got an email from my Palm contact today, saying that Palm has a new blog! In this blog, Paul says that they will “be talking about all kinds of things including product news and updates, cool new applications, employee perspectives, and other stuff too.”

Palm Blog

In his first post, Paul says:

So what exactly will Palm blog about and who will be contributing to it? We’re going to be flexible and broad on topics because we have a lot of stuff to talk about. The “who” is just about anyone at Palm, from interns to execs. Some days our posts will be educational about our products and other days thought-provoking about our vision and the ever-changing market dynamics. How about even generating a few laughs and who knows maybe some “spirited” conversations – we’re game for that. We might even provide a peek behind the Palm curtain. And finally, what self-serving company blog (thanks, Yahoo) would be complete without some insight into the company’s employees and culture? Over time, all of the above will be covered.

So yeah, I’ll be reading, especially since there appear to be some big changes afoot at Palm. And look – Mike has already left a snarky comment, and they left it in place. Score one for Palm!

Actually, several of the comments that have already been left are mildly amusing. I think it’s great that Palm is opening up a dialogue like this. Do you have anything you want to ask them? Post it there and maybe your question and their reply will become a blog entry. :-)

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
