Stan Lau sent a link with what has to be one of the most offbeat stories I have read in a while…
Apparently McCavity, a white cat with one green eye and one blue, has been hitching rides on the No. 331 bus several times a week. According to the Daily Mail article, “The feline, which has a purple collar, gets onto the busy Walsall to Wolverhampton bus at the same stop most mornings - he then jumps off at the next stop 400m down the road, near a fish and chip shop.”

It seems that the cat is smart enough to always gets on and off at the same stops, and he has been doing this since January. According to one of the passengers, “He sat at the front of the bus, waited patiently for the next stop and then got off. It was was quite strange at first but now it just seems normal. I suppose he is the perfect passenger really - he sits quietly, minds his own business and then gets off.”
I think it is really cool that the bus drivers are looking out for the cat, and that no one seems too upset about a non-paying passenger.

Makes me want a cat…but not just any cat. A smart cat.

I’ve seen domesticated animals get into routines, but only through human intervention. It’s interesting that this cat managed to find a routine seemingly on it’s own.

Oh, and if you get a smart cat, you could call it Treo.

And right now, Fritz is saying “Where’s my feeder person?” even though he knows exactly where I am.
He’s a smart cat that knows how to play dumb.
