Doug Can’t Stop Popping Words

Posted on 05 May 2007 by

I’ve told him that it’s an unattractive habit, but he just won’t listen! He pops words in public, in private, everywhere!

Okay, I’ll be serious now. ;-)

Doug, of Just Another Mobile Monday, has published his review of SmartBox Design’s WordPop, which he describes like this: “WordPop is the 21st century rendition of Boggle, with a little bit of Scrabble thrown in to spice things up.  It has everything you remember, including the fun of finding words in the jumble of randomly lettered tiles; and a lot of things you may not remember from the original game, such as the rotating board and helper tiles.”

JAMM WordPop

There is a game-play level for all levels, as Doug explains:

WordPop offers three levels of difficulty, which means anyone from the novice word finder to the advanced word sleuth will enjoy playing this game.

  • In Easy Mode, you will begin the game with three blank tiles which may be used at any time.  Each time you clear a level, you will earn an additional blank tile.
  • In Medium Mode, you will begin the game with a single blank tile.  Each time you clear a level, you will earn one random bonus tile.
  • In Hard Mode, you will start with no tiles, but can earn bonus tiles as the game progresses.

I am always up for a good word puzzle, so based on his review I am going to have to give this one a try. Luckily it offers a generous 25 games before registration is necessary. :thumbup_tb:

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
