Enjoy the Silence

Doug Goldring, brand spanking new Gear Diary Team Member and News and Review Editor at Just Another Mobile Monday, has just posted a very comprehensive review of one of the most futuristic looking Bluetooth Headsets I’ve yet seen: the Aliph Jawbone. Good looks aside, performance from a BT headset should be the number one priority, and according to Doug’s review, the Jawbone delivers.

Here’s what he had to say:

Outsmarting your environment means finding a way to cancel out background noises without affecting the spoken voices. This is exactly what is offered by the noise shield technology in the Aliph Jawbone headset, which allows you to return to the days of controlling the environmental noise around your calls, regardless of the noise around you.

But perhaps most importantly:

Let’s face it, there are a million different designs for Bluetooth headsets, all of which claim to be unique and more comfortable than the others. I have not reviewed a lot of them, so I cannot tell you which one is the most comfortable or the best looking. I can tell you, however, that the noise shield technology in the Aliph Jawbone headset sets it apart from any other headset I have used.

Have any of you given this headset a try? Care to make a comment? Those of you that are curious can read Doug’s full review here. :-)

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
