When I was a kid, there were two shows that I never missed…ever. Okay, there were four. The first two were Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley, but the other two were The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman. Yeah, I’m so old that I saw them as first runs, not reruns.
Anyway! Watch this…!!
It’s just a one minute clip, but whoa – it packs a punch!
Okay, so I had the Jamie Sommer’s doll, I had the lunchbox, I had the red sports car that she stopped with her foot in that one episode (which was wayyyy cooler than the pink Barbie car my friends Jane & Jill had)…and for the record, I had the Col. Steve Austin (the Bionic Man) and the Oscar Goldman dolls, too. I also remember all the cool little doodads that came with each of the dolls - they fostered an early love for SWAG, I’m telling you.
The Bionic Woman is back! I didn’t even realize that they were reviving the series, but I am so watching this…they had better give Lyndsay Wagner a cameo, is all I have to say!

Oh wow, really a small world! I loved watching those tv shows too. My sister had the Jamie Sommer’s doll, and I had the Col. Steve Austin “action figure” (yes, for boy its called “action figure”). And we even had the play sets with bionic diagnostics equipment that plugged into modules under the roll up skin on their bionic arms and legs.
( A little history on the Bionic Woman series, it ran on ABC from 1976 to 1977 and 1977 to 1978 on NBC. – according to Wikipedia )
But really, is having been able to watch first run tv shows a gauge of how old you are? Oh well, if it is so, then Judie, you’re not alone in being old… I am with you.
Hey Judie, did you not like Wonder Woman too? I admit that I liked Wonder Woman also. That robot dog she had in season 3 was so cool, that spinning transformation with the explosion of light was awesome and the music was super cool. Campy superhero tv shows were the best back then.

Btw, that video clip scared me, way too graphic. :S But, it sure looks more like what would really happen in real life if some scientist installed bionic limbs on a person.

Hey Allen – yes, I absolutely loved Wonder Woman, too! For years I thought she was the “ideal woman” – an Amazon.

And yeah…I watched The Hulk, Isis, Shazaam, The Greatest American Hero, and The Man From Atlantis, too. I think I am forgetting some, actually.

@Christopher Spera: Wednesday, September 26.
I just hope this isn’t going to conflict with Lost come February. :worried:

I’m guessing sometime this Fall, and it had better not be on the same night as Dexter!

And it cant be on Fridays… which is SciFi Friday on the SciFi Channel… I say they can put it on Sunday nights between 8 and 10, there is nothing on tv in those time slots that I watch, except for movies on various cable channels.

I have vague memories of them on the show, was very cool. Oh, joy! They can do a modern day version of the Fembot for the new show.

Just saw this as well, and Judie, thanks for mentioning all those other shows as well, now it really reminds me of how old I am.
