Brandon Stelli from Just Another Mobile Monday, has posted a review on the freeHAND, a modified glove which holds a portable device on the back of the wearer’s hand. This looks like a great solution for anyone that needs “a pocket on the back of your hand.”
Question: What do you do when you’re heading out into the wild world we live in and you don’t have a single pocket on your body? Where do you put your license, your credit card, your car/house keys? What about that phone you can’t stand to be more than 2 feet away from?
Answer: I don’t have a clue where you put them… but I know where I’m putting them now!!
I can see using this to hold my Zune while walking, or maybe a thin and flat mobile phone, but I don’t think I’d be interested in showing a full size PDA in one and wearing it. But as Brandon shows…you could!
I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
I really don’t see this being used on the street, but maybe for rfid/barcode-reading purposes. Except for the fact that pretty much all barcode readers I’ve seen in use have been way too big to hold in something like this.
