Ever dream of having a customizable keyboard? A keyboard in which you can assign what you want to any key? Well, the day has finally arrived with the introduction of the “Optimus Maximus Keyboard“, from Art Lebedev Studio. What is it? Well, it is a special kind of keyboard that has tiny little OLED screens built into the key caps, yes all the key caps, 113 of them to be exact.

The keyboard comes with configuration software for your Windows or Mac OS operating system to customize the keys to your own liking.
You can put whatever you want onto those OLED cap displays, logos for your favorite programs, system stats, and even pictures (see the picture below).

If you want to drool over this beauty of a keyboard some more, check out the awesome flash demo they have over the Art Lebedev Studio website.
There is one set back to this geek worthy keyboard and that is the price, a whopping $1564.37! Arrrgh, another cool thing that I wont be buying. ![]()

Bah, still a pre-order. That, and no way in hell would I ever pay that much for a keyboard. It’s a neat idea, but perhaps ahead of its time.

$1500 bucks?!? Are they nuts?!! This is never going to see the light of day. There’s no way they are going to be able ot sell enough of these to make any kind of profit. Nice concept, but just not realisticly priced…

At $1500 they probably would make enough profit to stay afloat
Nice idea, but yeah they will be incredibly niched because of their price. That is if they ever actually ship units considering how long it has been delayed.
