How can you not love a site that will do an image search based on any name you enter and then return a picture rendered in that name?
I’m talking about Toogle Search, and here’s the result I get when I enter Judie Hughes…

Look, Gizmo even made it into the photo!
So for the heck of it, I also entered all the other Gear Diary team members’ names. The pictures are pretty random – sometimes they are from reviews that have been done, sometimes they aren’t anything expected, and I do wish that there was a way to shuffle through the possibilities, but it is still pretty cool.
So here’s the team in no particular order…

Chris Spera:

Oddly enough, entering Chris Chamberlain returns either a group picture of some theater group, or saying “Chris Chamberlain Gear Diary” returns that same picture of Chris Spera. Hrmm! :ponder_tb:
Clinton Fitch:

Allen Hong:

Jenneth Orantia:

Larry Liaw:

Jerry Raia:

Doug Moran:

Doug Goldring returns Doug Moran’s picture, too. Not sure what the glitch is here.
Kerry Woo:

What do you get when you enter your name?
…and yeah – I learned about Toogle on Neatorama!

ctmagnus turns up exactly what I would expect.
However, Chris Magnusson appears to be a coat of arms of sorts, and the only coat of arms I’ve ever seen for my family looked nothing like that. Never mind that that was on my mom’s side.

Plugging in “allen hong gear diary team member” into the search box brings up my picture!

Well then I will have to replace it!
Update: Done!

It takes the first hit from a Google Image search for that term and ascii-izes it.

I thought that too, until I entered “Judie”. Try it and you will see what I mean.
Oh, and it is NSFW.

Ok. But then I decided to read their About page.
“Toogle is a Text version of Googles Image Search.”
Actually, Toogle doesn’t filter the search results. Google is set to use moderate filtering by default. That’s why there’s the discrepancy.

Hmm… Another post that had all line breaks removed. I wonder if it’s a Firefox thing…

Ahhh…well then, Toogle needs to get some filter action going.
Thanks for the clarification.
Not sure what’s up with the linebreaks thing, but I am betting Firefox. I’m using IE7 with no probs.
