I’m finding out that people passionately define “gear” in many different ways with many different expressions!
Especially with cars. 1969 Dodge Chargers. Painted orange.
The Dukes of Hazzard – DukesFest just roared into Nashville this weekend. I was fortunate to get a “pit pass” this morning courtesy of the Hazzard County Pit Crew to photograph the big bright orange 1969 Dodge Chargers General Lees being offloaded from trailers. A few county mountie sheriff cars were spotted too, complete with working blue/red lights!
I chatted with some families who were traveling in from Georgia and South Carolina; they were here to have a blast with the expected 60,000 in attendance.
Oh yeah, Daisy Duke shorts are back in style this weekend – and everybody is wearing orange!
This year’s event will include appearances by Ben Jones (Cooter Davenport); John Schneider (Bo Duke); Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke); James Best (Rosco P. Coltrane); Sonny Shroyer (Deputy Enos); and Rick Hurst (Deputy Cletus). Tom Wopat, who played Luke Duke, canceled because of a scheduling conflict. (Darn!)

I loved The Dukes of Hazzard growing up…and the Character’s names: Cooter, Rosco P. Coltrane, Boss Hogg, Cletus, etc., used to totally crack me up.
