If you own a Cingular/AT&T BlackJack, and don’t want to wait until the official ROM update for WM6 on the BlackJack (expected in Q3 of this year), it’s floating around the web. If you can get it, get it while it’s hot – because it’ll likely be taken down soon.
I’ve installed this onto my BlackJack and it works. I’m also getting an occasional “H” in the task bar, indicating that the device is sensing an HSDPA data signal. It would make sense that the WM6 ROM had HSDPA support. Brandon Miniman over at pocketnow.com said he’s going to run speed tests on this. I’m going to run some as well, and I’ll post the results for everyone to see.

If you do download this ROM, you’ll need to follow the same procedure that is currently available for the newest WM5 rebranding ROM that was released for the Blackjack by AT&T. Honestly, unless you are used to updating your device, I really don’t recommend that you install the leaked ROM. It’s not supported by AT&T, and it may have bugs. It may also void your warranty if you install it, and it bricks your device. So install-iat emptor…

In just installed this. Other than a few minor issues. It works great on my BlackJack. I haven’t seen the “H” yet though.

I see the “H” occasionally on my i600, even though speeds are like HSDPA most of the time it shows only “3G” as well.
I am really looking forward to the WM6 ROM for my i600, I have been resisting installing the WM5 update for it from the MoDaCo forum.

So far, this thing is pretty good. The only problem I had was right in the beginning, and its been just fine ever since. I couldn’t be happier with this at this point.
Sorry you’re not seeing any HSDPA yet, Jerry. Where are you located again?

I’m in a part of Los Angeles that doesn’t even have 3G yet! However I will be traveling shortly to a place that does so I’ll be looking.
