You’d think that this would sign you up for every spam list for the next million years, but according to the page you only get signed up if you tick those boxes. If I start to receive spam, I’ll be sure to update this.

Get it for Windows here and Mac OS X here.

I just used a secondary email address which I keep for these exact reasons. Cuts down on the spam in my personal inbox. :)

I use the DivX codec for my conversions for my CDs, and I’ve been pretty happy with it (I use Dr. DivX, rather than DivX Converter), so it gets the Doug Seal of Approval for all you A/V conversion nerds. A lot of people like to use it in conjunction with various other tools (other than Dr. DivX, I mean), and that seems to work pretty well, too. So this seems like a good deal.

A personal favourite is VirtualDub Mod. It’s a modified version of virtualdub (as the name suggests) that supports MPEG files. Simply put one of the best encoding apps ever made, and it’s free!

I’m just annoyed I didn’t think to get a code for my desktop at the same time *doh*.
