I Just Couldn’t Resist

Posted on 08 June 2007 by

Well after mulling over whether to upgrade to the new MacBook Pro, and chatting to Judie who was very helpful with her “do it do it do it”, I have decided to go for it. I use my MBP for gaming a lot, and while the ATI X1600 is a great card, I am getting into games like Supreme Commander and Company of Heroes which require a bit more ooomph to play at native resolutions. Company of Heroes also supports DX10, and while I was going to buy a new nVidia 8xxx series card (was looking at the 8800GTS) I’ve decided I’d rather forgo the higher power and get the 8600M inside my laptop. I regularly go to LAN parties (bunch of people get together and play multiplayer games) and carrying the MBP is MUCH nicer than lugging a desktop with a 22″ LCD.So my excellent condition MacBook Pro is up for sale on eBay. At only 6 mths old it is in great condition, never dropped, with the only scratches on the battery (oddly the rest of the base is unscathed, must be a different material). Runs great in both Mac OS X 10.4.9 and Windows XP, and the latest version of Boot Camp supports Vista as well. Aero would look amazing on such a sexy machine ;-) Read my review to see how happy I am with this machine.

If there are any Australian readers out there interested, the auction is here. Sorry worldwide readers, I’d rather not ship it outside Australia.

I fully understand your desire to upgrade! I bought my XPS M170 to play some games and serve as a desktop replacement. I work and do other stuff on my Toshiba R400. I am sure you will appreciate that upgrade. Apple will upgrade the 17″ Mbpro to a LED screen soon though.

Oh believe me I would love to get the 17″ MBP but I just don’t have the money to go that far unfortunately.
