Feeding My Need for Gaming and Star Wars Action

Posted on 15 June 2007 by

On Monday I bought the DS version of Star Wars: Lethal Alliance and surprise to me, the game actually is very good. IGN gave the game a poor, and based on that, I did not buy the game when it was released back in December 2006. Since, the DS game scene has been lacking games that I like over the past several months. I have not purchased any new DS games since November 2006. I kept going back to look at the Star Wars: Lethal Alliance, because I like Star Wars. I found a GameSpot review and they gave the game a “good” rating. Now who is right and who is wrong here? Ok, I thought, lets see what the actual game players have to say about it? Many, players who posted their comments on Amazon.com, GameSpot and IGN forums… majority say its a good game.

Based on the positive opinions from other gamers, I finally decided to buy the game and got it for the low price of $19.99 instead of the newly released price of $29.99-$34.99. Price is really not a factor when it comes to a good enjoyable game. But I agree with GameSpot and the other game players, that the game is good to even being great! The programmers did a outstanding job on the game to bring the Star Wars universe experience to the Nintendo DS handheld. The graphics that many claim are horrible, is because they are comparing them to graphics on another system.

Having been a long time fan of Nintendo portable gaming systems, I think the graphics are top notch for what the DS engine can produce. Game play is so much fun with blaster blasting and Star Wars environments to explore. When I first started up the game… I found myself thinking that the game is a little bit like Tomb Raider with a Star Wars theme. There is shooting action, running, climbing, puzzle solving, and the lead game character is female. All the same elements that make up Tomb Raider. I think this game is must have for Nintendo DS fans, who are also Star Wars fans. :)

Tech toys and gadgets are also a weakness of his. Allen also loves video games, especially the classics and is a big Nintendo portable gaming fanboy and has his DS with him everyday so that he can get his gaming fix daily. He can also be considered a couch potato as he is addicted to watching TV, especially the Sci Fi Channel with its B-movies.
