Is Windows Mobile Still Relevant at JAMM

Posted on 08 March 2008 by

Doug has posted an interesting look at Windows Mobile now that the iPhone SDK and Exchange support have been announced. I have always been a big fan of Windows Mobile, but agree it needs to sharpen up it’s act to compete with the latest offering from Apple.

The desktop battle is essentially being recreated on mobile devices, with Microsoft making software for others, which Apple controls both the OS and the hardware. Microsoft definitely need to set down some rules for manufacturers to rejuvenate the platform.

Mitchell – nice catch — I especially like the part about the “wet fart” — was hoping that we’d pick this up

Thanks, Mitchell (and Wayne). Mitchell, that is a great additional point you made about MS controlling the software. That may well be their future role in all of this.

Wayne, that “wet fart” comment is one of the absolute best lines ever. I only wish I could take credit for that. :)
