Crayon(r) Introduces New Line Of Sports Drinks

Posted on 14 March 2008 by

I thought April 1 must have come early when I saw the press release that Crayons (r) has a new line of sports drinks. Even better was the quote within the press release (I’m not making this up) —

I’m thrilled to finally have a healthy sports drink option. My children stay hydrated because Crayons(R) taste great. My wife and I love that the drinks are full of nutrition, with no high-fructose corn syrup

Crayon(r) Sports Drinks are offered along with a line of Crayon(r) juice drinks which first hit the market in March 2007. What next? Sharpie Snack Bars…?

I am literally shocked that they were able to trademark and use the name “Crayons”!

After ten years and a number of good natured arm wrestling matches with a six foot three-inch inventor, the Company’s much shorter, though far more nimble and endurance savvy Co-Founder, Duncan A. Seay, finally earned the rights to purchase the trademark brand name, Crayons®; a world renowned brand name registered in two dozen countries within food and beverages.

I think every kid has eaten crayons at one time or another. That’s the taste that instantly came to mind when I saw this.
