We now know that an unlimited Internet data plan is not a must to get the iPhone. Ireland just got the iPhone through O2 and they are not offering an unlimited plan nor visual voice mail in Ireland. What's more, T-Mobile is now offering the iPhone in Austria too and no unlimited data plans there too. So the information Andy's got is just air. Rogers has no incentive to change anything in the current data plans and Apple is not requiring unlimited plans for it's device. The iPhone might be coming to Canada some time after the launch of the 3G iPhone but it will remain a very expensive proposition. Just like Ireland and Austria we will get the shaft too.
