Do you have a GPS Navigation system in your car? I have a built-in Honda Accord GPS Navigation system and a Garmin Nuvi 660. Both are fantastic at getting me from address to address. What they’ve always been missing are updates. Just today I spotted a new GPS that has a WIFI and GPRS connection so that maps and points of interest are constantly updated. Keep reading for a link to a Walter Mossberg review and a link to the site where they can be purchased.

Sure I could remove the GPS from my car (or buy an expensive map update DVD from Honda) and manually load an update disk – but that’s a pain. Plus I usually only notice an update is required – while I’m out of town searching for the nearest Walmart. There’s a new GPS called Dash Express. Updates and searches are delivered to the device via WIFI or Cellular GPRS data.

Unlike other auto GPS units, this one has a monthly service fee (first month is free – additional months are $ 9.99 to $ 12.99 depending upon plan selected). The unit also shares traffic flow data with other units – so you theoretically get a truer picture of traffic flow.

Walter Mossberg just reviewed it here – and Amazon sells it here. Were it not for the monthly fee and that traffic flow updates are pretty to look at but useless when stick in the middle of a traffic jam – I’d probably be ordering one now.
