On March 14 I wrote about a new line of energy drink carrying the Crayon name. Their press release said some Whole Foods stores stocked the drink. Unfortunately three stores near me didn’t carry it. While browsing the store, I did find another brand name many of your probably remember fondly from your school days. Curious? Keep reading.

It’s the Elmer’s Glue dairy substitute!

Created based on the concept that kids drink more willingly the things that they’re familiar with….and what child isn’t familiar with the smell and taste of paste!

From the company press release:

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 1 /PRNewswire/ — Announcing the launch of the
only all-natural milk substitute - fortified with 4 important vitamins.

Elmer’s Inc’s CEO said today they’re filling an
important void in the fast-growing functional beverage market for kids.

There are 58 million kids, including my own, who refuse to drink their milk with every meal. As a
parent, I’m thrilled to finally have a healthy option that contains the RDA of 4 essential vitamins - G, L, U and E.

My
children stay hydrated because they think that Elmer’s(R) taste great. It’s something they’re used to tasting throughout the school day - so it’s only natural they drink it at home too!

My wife and I love
that the drinks are full of nutrition, with no animal steroids,
said Paul Mitchell, Elmer’s CEO. Elmer’s co-founder Richard Roll adds, “It is
great to see my vision of providing healthier drink options specifically
formulated for kids materialize with these new dairy substitute drinks.”

Today Mr. Roll also announced a new sales & marketing deal with The Push
Agency — a team of sales/marketing professionals who have been key to the
growth of companies such as Gatorade, Silk and Emer’gen-C. Roll said the
agreement is another example of the attractiveness of the brand and a
reason Elmer’s, Inc. is a company to watch.

Elmer’s should be available at Whole Foods and Wild Oats by the time you read this. If you can’t find it in the juice aisle, check office supplies.
