It's pretty much like I thought, the PIE in 6.1 released now is just as lame as it is on my WM 6.1 beta, but they are promising new version by the end of the year that will have all the goodies from Derek's video, hopefully it will be a free downloadable upgrade...

Judie, here is a link to a video about new PIE (you probably saw it allready, but just in case).<br

I definatelly agree with you they must do in but I'm just not sure they allready did it in 6.1 - I would be very surprised if after years of doing very little (I'm beeing polite) now suddenly they upgraded PIE to "real" browser and they even did it so that the pre-release versions didn't have this in?
I would love to get real IE functionality in WM, not just for my Trinity, but just think how more usefull devices like Experia or Advantage (or even jail broken Shift) would become with their HI-res screens...

We have a saying – from your lips to gods ears…

I definatelly agree with you they must do in but I’m just not sure they allready did it in 6.1 – I would be very surprised if after years of doing very little (I’m beeing polite) now suddenly they upgraded PIE to “real” browser and they even did it so that the pre-release versions didn’t have this in?

I would love to get real IE functionality in WM, not just for my Trinity, but just think how more usefull devices like Experia or Advantage (or even jail broken Shift) would become with their HI-res screens…

By: Judie Lipsett

<guid

I think they know that they must, and I think they are going to do their best to deliver something that is a vast improvement from what we have seen. Or at least, that's what I am hoping. :-)

Ah, but see, that’s exactly why I think that they would. If official RTM build truly has additional updates to the PIE like Derek showed then it's just great, but somehow I can't believe Microsoft would suddenly do such a mayor upgrade to the PIE after years of doing practically nothing.

You are quite correct, Trinity never even got an official WM6 upgrade, so I’m running an unofficial WM6.1 from XDA-Developers.<br

If I am not mistaken, and please correct me if I am wrong, Trinity does not ship with 6.1, especially since it was just released last week. So if you have a Trinity running 6.1, your build may not be the RTM build released this week.
Anyway, it looks like Derek is running the latest RTM build of WM6.1, with an updated browser: Windows Mobile Browser 6.0.

Ok, so my question would be, how did you get a Trinity with 6.1 on it? I'm just looking at my HTC Trinity with WM 6.1 and there is no difference compared to rpevious versions, it doesn't render pages like my iGoogle, Gmail and YouTube doesn't work...
It's nowhere near the mentioned desktop experience and it still doesn't handle AJAX, Flash...

I don’t know what PIE Derek was showing, but it’s not what you get with WM 6.1

I’m just looking at my HTC Trinity with WM 6.1 and there is no difference compared to rpevious versions, it doesn’t render pages like my iGoogle, Gmail and YouTube doesn’t work…<br
