Construction Time Again

Posted on 09 April 2008 by

This is just a quick note to let you all know that Ewdi and I are working fast and furiously behind the scenes today to get Gear Diary’s new template tweaked and inserted. Okay, it’s mostly Ewdi, but I am offering moral support. ;-)

So please pardon our dust for just a little bit…and if you have any comments – please leave them. We are tweaking and nothing is final yet.

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford

Thank you, we are still tweaking! I want to try our logo to the left of a smaller banner ad. I didn’t realize Ewdi would be ready to go last night, so there are still a few things to change, and a few things to add. If you have any suggestions, please share. :-)

I have one, my name on top in huge bold letters with the lights going around it. :)

Alison, I meant to comment on the tornado stuff: it was pretty crazy! We had a huge system move through, but other than some quarter size hail and strong winds in the thunderstorm, we were ok. Sarah came downstairs from her apartment, and slept in her old room after we were done hiding in the windowless hallway during the worst of it. We don’t have a storm cellar or a basement, so that was our best idea. Thankfully we had all the rouge branches trimmed off our pecan trees last year, or we would have had limbs all over the yard – or worse. :-P

Let me start working on that right now for you, Jerry. ;-)

Lovin the new look. The old one, well, looked, a bit like it needed some gear to be improved.

I like the new layout – black and white seem crisper, not so much small type under the headings. Good design.

I love the new look! Lean and clean. Always enjoyed the energy of the site and now that energy seems to spring from the page, cool.
