A Message From Shane at PPCSG

I had meant to post about this sooner, but there is still time!

I received an email from Shane, admin for the Pocket PC Singapore Community about an eBay promotion being held by HTC for the Children’s Cancer Foundation in Singapore. This sounds like a really good opportunity to pick up a one of a kind HTC Touch, as well as support a very worthy cause. If you are in Singapore anywhere in the world, take a look!

Hi, this is a shameless promotion of our support of HTC’s Charity Drive for the Children’s Cancer Foundation in Singapore over at our site at www.ppcsg.com.

HTC’s got 4 very special and unique phones on Ebay, that have been designed by Nic Wong of Nicholas. These are the only pieces in the world and truly 1 of a kind. All proceeds from the auctions will benefit the Children’s Cancer Foundation directly. So our readers will be able to help the unfortunate cancer stricken children and their families as well. HTC will be starting the auctions tomorrow afternoon at 12pm and in the meantime, you can visit their eBay about me page at www.ebay.com.sg/htc.

Good to see that people like HTC doing their bit for society, I can support that. Thumbs upz.

Thanks for reading.
Shane

Not only are the fronts of the devices customized, the backs look awesome, too!

Update 04/14/08: I received an email this morning that the auction is open all over the world. Now there is no reason not to take a look…and bid! :-)

Hi Judie,

I hope this email finds you well! Anyhow, I read your article on the HTC Charity Drive (http://www.geardiary.com/2008/04/11/a-message-from-shane-at-ppcsg/). Good to know that the word is being spread even beyond our local shores. As one of the PR representatives of HTC, I would just like to inform you the auction is open to anyone outside Singapore. We would gladly ship the phone with all shipping costs borne by the buyer. Shipping within Singapore is FOC.

Do let me know if you have any enquiries. Have a good day!

Cheers,
Gina

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford

How come all the good things only happen after I leave Singapore?

  • http://www.geardiary.com Judie Lipsett

Yes, but even better things are going to happen to you and for you now! Congratulations on my Today Screen, you all are doing a great job! :-)

    Wow, those look totally awesome!
Do you have any idea how one would go about customizing a gadget similarly? I would love to make my laptop all cute and colorful, but I am pretty sure paint would just not look good, haha.
