It’s refreshing to see some musical artists “get” the Internet as a promotional tool. Hall and Oates were red hot during the late 1970s and all of the 1980s – with a total 34 records on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. They’ve recently started a free monthly concert series that streams live performances from Daryl Hall’s home — via the Internet. These mini-concerts are recorded and you can watch them at your convenience. They feature backstage” interviews as well as guest performers like KT Tunstall. If you have a chance – see them online or in concert. They’re one of the rare musical acts that gets better with age.

I saw Hall and Oates at the CT Chevy Theater in Wallingford (formerly the Oakdale). They were there with Michael McDonald and the Average White Band.
Possibly the greatest show ever.
No stage setup whatsoever. I think they had one electric piano. A folding chair and the drums and guitars.
Unbelievably these guys sounded just like their albums.
And Michael McDonald did a set for about an hour where he just walked on stage, sat behind a piano and asked the audience what to play.
I’d never seen such an informal and great concert before.
When I caught Hall and Oates at the Foxwoods Casino I bought the show on CD. Immediately after the concerts there is a table set up where they sell their shows. You can also go in via their web site and buy CD’s for an extremely reasonable price that are live recordings (excellent quality) of the nightly show.
If these guys come to your town, go see them!

I have to agree, the CD Wayne sent me for Christmas of Hall & Oats’ live set was awesome!
And yes, I had to play “Sarah Smile” for Sarah, since I had sung her that song when she was a baby…it elicited a smile and rolled eyes.
