I like audiobooks when I am doing crafts (yes, I do "organic" creation once in a while), because I can listen to the book without feeling obligated to look up - like I do when the TV is on in the room. :-) Agreed on the DRM, but I don't ever see it truly going away... :-/ Yeah, I think the CD would be most practical when driving or when siting at home working.
