A 25 year old woman born without arms has become the first person to pilot a Ercoupe sport plane using only her feet! Jessica Cox completed her flight on May 11,2008 as a special Mother’s Day gift to her mom. Her training started over two years ago on August 2005 when she was asked if she’d ever considered flying. Admitting to a flying phobia, Jessica was curious and attended a Wright Flight fly day. She was hooked and began training for her opportunity to solo. I’ll defer to Jerry to tell us how this is all possible, to me it’s an amazing feat. Jessica’s written a book about her experiences which you can learn about via the link below.

Wow! And here I am, with arms and legs, and still pre-solo and trying to get my landings right.

I met Jessica when I attended UofA. Jessica and her attorney Larry Fassler her “legal” representation for Jessica Cox and http://www.rightfooted.com. Anyhow Jessica approached me and asked me to help her make a video of her daily life and this “attorney” was a total jerk. I was trying to help this girl out who I thought was very inspirational at the time. Unfortunately I realized very quickly that she was just as bad as him! She lied to me on several occasions probably at Larry’s own request and made promises that she never did keep. I see her story now on the web and I so badly want to be happy for her but I just can’t stomach it. She acts like she wants to inspire people when all she does is lie and connive to get whatever it is she wants. I found several links online that mention how her attorney is now in jail because he was a drug smuggler. I can’t say I was shocked but I am glad this SOB is in jail. I hope he rots there for a very long time. If this proves anything, it shows that karma is in effect more ways than one. I would highly suggest to anyone who is in business with this woman to be very, very cautious. Just a little advice from a former student and peer. David

Let’s hope her book is better than her piece on her website A DAY AT THE POOL BY JESSICA COX. I wanted to stab my eyeballs out with a dull knife. Hey so has anyone else seen that there is a man born without legs who is a pilot in the UK? I think it’s awesome what he has done as well. I hope that woman has helped Jessica write because that article on her site was awful. Then again I would probably write horrible too if I was typing with my toes.
