The HTC Touch Dual is Now Available at Best Buy

Posted on 23 May 2008 by

I just received information from HTC that their US version Touch Dual is now available from Best Buy. As you may recall, this was the device that Jenneth and I received in Amsterdam during the Fall 2007 Mobius, although ours were the European versions and they weren’t running 6.1. Granted, the Touch Dual doesn’t have a full keyboard so it’s not the ideal device if you are a heavy texter or if you need to compose massive emails on your phone. But if you want a touchscreen quad-band mobile with the full power of Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, this is a very nice option.

We know your fingers have been antsy to touch the highly anticipated HTC Touch Dual and now you can! The coveted Touch Dual has arrived unlocked and is now available in the United States through Best Buy, a world-leading independent mobile phone retailer.

The HTC Touch Dual combines an intuitive touch screen integrated with HTC’s TouchFLO technology and slide-out keypad for a stunning design. In addition, the HTC Touch Dual is one of the first devices to feature Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional software, making it easier for customers to communicate on the go. The HTC Touch Dual is the predecessor of the original HTC Touch, a popular device which has sold 3 million units to date. The device will retail for approximately $549.

The HTC Touch Dual can be ordered through all Best Buy retail locations and online at www.BestBuy.com/unlocked, product will be available in select Best Buy Mobile locations as well.

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford

@Kamal – Nope, it doesn’t have WiFi, nor does it have GPS for that matter.

Sorry about not replying to your email, but I have been swamped, and I don’t think I can take on any new commitments at the moment. :-(

@Drew – Let me know how your project goes. :-D
