After spending a year in beta testing, tattoo enthusiast web site checkoutmyink.com is live. During their beta period they’ve compiled over 44,735 searchable tattoos. If you’re into tattoos, or just like hanging out with people who are, you can create your own profile and participate in this site which looks a lot like Myspace for the heavily tattooed.

Those who are seeking tattoo ideas can easily search CheckoutmyInk for new designs with the proprietary search box. Type in “dragon,” for instance, and 1,141 dragon-related tattoo images will be displayed in the order of most viewed. Should any of those designs pique the user’s interest, they can immediately add it to their favorites with a single click, creating a virtual photo album of their favorite tattoos. One member – “tattoolicious” – has saved more than 400 designs to her favorites!

I must admit that I find this very cool! I have tattoos and I have been holding back to get another one. There is something fun in looking what other people have inked into their skin.
