Hello “What’s On iPhone”

Posted on 10 June 2008 by

I had basically sworn that after yesterday’s iDeluge I wouldn’t do a single iPhone post today, but it is a woman’s prerogative to change her mind. It’s also for a good reason, so I know you all will forgive me. ;-)

I want to bring to your attention a new site which was created by my friend (and podcast co-host) Dan Cohen: it’s called What’s On iPhone

What’s On iPhone – The iPhone Application Resource

Today’s Announcement was Huge! A new iPhone. New firmware. And an AppStore that, when it rolls out in mid July, will be brimming with applications for the iPhone and iPod Touch. For the first time the iPhone is open to third party developers and they are ready to roll out the goods. The days of the locked-down iPhone are over!

Hours before WWDC began a new site– Whatsoniphone.com— rolled out.

The new site is committed to becoming “a one stop resource for all of the upcoming applications for your iPhone”. To use their words-

Our Mission:

* To keep you up to date on the latest and greatest iPhone apps.

* To review newly released apps so that you can decide if they might be worth your time and money.

To become the place where the iPhone community can share their experiences, their recommendations, their tips and their tricks.

Dan, along with Demitri, Chris & Jamie have a huge task ahead of them – as soon as the new iPhone Application store is really up and running there are going to be a ton of applicatons to talk about. Please wish them a warm welcome, bookmark their page, add their RSS feed to your reader, and generally give them some Gear Diary love. :-)

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
