Vodafone just released version 4.5 of the Blackberry OS. This version, while posted on the Vodafone site, can be downloaded and installed to most Blackberry Pearl’s (Update: see the links at the bottom that I just added which will allow you to download the 8300 OS or the 8800 OS upgrades). PC Magazine has a pretty good overview of the new features in version 4.5 – including voice notes, streaming media support, bluetooth stereo music, Microsoft Office document editing with DocumentsToGo. Even though these versions are from the Vodafone site, they will work on any carrier’s Blackberry. Just make sure you select the proper model Blackberry to upgrade and follow the instructions from the link below. UPDATE: If you are on T-Mobile – do not use the instructions below – you should wait until the official T-Mobile OS is released. Make a backup before doing any upgrades and follow the instructions on the Blackberryforums site explicitly.

I downloaded 4.5 on my Blackberry 8100 Pearl and now the camera doesn't work outside in the day time. The screen goes all white. How can I fix that? I'm in California with T-Mobile

Well my dog ate my phone… i was able to buy a new shell but the camera has never worked right after that anyways (Cracked Lens) but it still takes okay photos… my guess is the flash is set to "Always On"
And another note on the OS i upgraded again to 4.5.0.124 my 8100 and my wifes 8120 (Both T-Mobile Cus) and we have have been 100% happier with the new one it's even faster and no bugs AT ALL! and her camera and mine both work as normal (minus whats mentioned above for my phone)

Yes, you're comment wasn't up here after i got the email. Glad it is now. I'm VERY happy with it (the 4.5 OS). i have upgraded again since the first post. And i've read rumors of another upgrade beyond the one i have 4.5.0.124… but i can't speak for that one. Its been installed for over a month on both my 8100 and 8120 T-Mobile. I've even called in and had tech support help me tether it to my laptop and they didn't even hesitate on the fact i'm not using a supported OS.
I will say if you're jumping from 4.3 and lower you will have a problem with your MicroSD card. pull it out first format it and install the new os put it back in and than ONE! by ONE! move the individual files like music and images back. DO NOT just mass drag and drop back on the fresh card there are hidden files that the BB OS puts on your Card indicative to that and that OS only! it will continually crash your phone. *Lesson learned by experience.
I'm keeping up on this post shoot me any other Q's you have
