Sprint’s first QChat Direct Connect phones available to 40 markets starting today

Sprint today released 4 new phones with QChat technology. These new phones: The LX400 by LG, Z400 by Samsung, and PRO-200 and PRO-700 by Sanyo are now up on both the regular Sprint site as well as the Sprint SERO web page. If you visit the Sprint site and don’t see the phones, that’s because there is a limited list of 40 markets where these work (presumably due to their requirement to use EVDO Rev A for the QChat walkie talkie functionality). Use a zip code for one of the active markets and the phones will show up for you. A list of the markets and more pictures follows.

On top of the new QChat enabled phones, Sprint has also unveiled new Direct Connect (Another name for QChat) plans:

The LG LX300 – speakerphone, web, 1.3 megapixel camera and camcorder, GPS. Price is $79 after rebates and 2 year plan.

The Sanyo Pro 700 – speaker phone, GPS, Bluetooth and Military Spec (810F). Price is $79 after rebates and 2 year plan.

All of these new phones are available to those within the 40 locations listed as supporting QChat. Order them today online or in retail stores (check with your local store before visiting as not all stores receive inventory in time for promised launches). You may also subscribe to the Sprint SERO plan and order these phones via the Sprint site http://www.sprint.com/sero by using the referral email address of “savings@sprintemi.com”.
