The La Crosse Technology BC-900 is lauded by purchasers on Amazon for being able to bring back their old Ni-Mh batteries from the graveyard. If you’ve ever bought expensive rechargeable batteries only to cry when they go bad and no longer accept a charge – then you know what I’m talking about. Over 324 Amazon buyers have rated this 4.5 out of 5. Right now it’s on sale for 43% off — only $39.95. I’m in for one — review to follow. More pictures demonstrating how to bring batteries back to life are on the next page.

According to an Amazon reader review, you can revive a “dead” battery in the following manner using the BC0900. Once normal cell voltage is returned to .5 volts or larger – the BC900 starts to charge.

What’s unique about this charger is that each individual cell has its own LCD display that shows the power stored within the battery. In this instance you can see the battery in slot #2 is not maintaining a charge.

Using the refresh mode on the BC-900 you are able to “juice up” this dead cell to the full power capacity (from a starting point of 974 mAh to 2500 mAh).

Rechargeable batteries are too expensive to throw out. This recharger has garnered high reviews on Amazon and seems like just the cure for anyone with a drawer full of costly Ni-Mh batteries that now refuse to charge to their full capacity.
