The HP iPAQ 910 is just about ready for release. While this GSM based phone will be capable of running on the AT&T high speed network – our information is that it is NOT on the carrier’s roadmap for release. So for those of you with your heart set on running this on AT&T you’ll have to settle for Amazon’s unlocked HP iPAQ 910 that they are offering for pre-order. We’ve got a few more pictures of the iPAQ 910 after the jump.

So far after a little testing, here is an early reaction:

Wayne,

One thing I will say about this device so far is that I am rather impressed which takes alot nowadays.

They have a program on the device called HP Voice Reply with which I can attached a recorded note to an email, now that may not mean much, but in the world of Unified Communications that i huge, you can also use Voice Commander as well to compose an email.

    Nice! :-D

This is a nice looking phone. If I were into WM, it could be my main ride. Especially given that it’s pretty reasonable via Amazon (unlocked).

The one thing that makes me nervous is that it was a while in the making. I’m always hesitant when I see something that takes a long time from announcement to final release…

    I totally agree!

I am nostalgic for the days when iPAQ meant a truly great PDA; I hope that HP is getting back on track, but I am a little bit skeptical. This one does look very niiiice, though… ;-)

This looks like a nice device; but I’m disappointed that it only has a 416mHz processor. These things could use a little more punch, don’t ya think??

Chris: Yeah I am wondering what the heck happened to 600 MHz Xscale CPU’s and 640×480. Guess it’s all about battery life… :P

Probably a combination of battery life and keeping the cost down. This one is $449 at Amazon which is pretty reasonable (the extra $50 off is via a coupon code)

LOL at 256MB of RAM, which is actually 128mb internal ROM+128mb RAM

at first glance it looks like a cross between a blackberry and a motoq9c.
