@Chris... "but I choose Intel over AMD because I’d rather have the productivity and capability increases than save the $$." That's also a big consideration for hard-core gamers who want to squeeze out absolutely every last bit of gaming edge they can and will spend whatever it takes to get a top-notch gaming rig set up. Of course, when I flip on the TV, every now and then I'll see an Intel commercial...but I don't recall offhand the last time I saw any AMD ads. Line up a bunch of reasonably tech-savvy people, play a certain 4 note tune, and most will likely conjure up images of the Intel logo. That gives you an idea of Intel's market presence in consumers' minds versus AMD's.

Judie! I had a Toshiba 2060CDS that had an AMD K62/366 processor in it. the notebook sucked major {put in expletive/noun of choice}. If AMD can promise good performance without sacrificing anything, great. I'm not crazy about integrated graphics and shared RAM pools. I'd like to see true competitors to C2D's that Intel is producing. If they can do that with the standard AMD price premium, great. If not, then they're going to have problems with market penetration and sales. AMD has a "budget line" reputation - mediocre performance, similar capabilities at a better price than Intel; but I choose Intel over AMD because I'd rather have the productivity and capability increases than save the $$. I don't buy notebooks everyday.
What are AMD's plans to address this image/product positioning issue? How are they going to entice me away from my Intel box?

wow… Y’all were busy this morning!!
