GearDeal: Freeze dried astronaut ice cream – .99

What are the odds that Astronauts actually eat freeze dried space food out of pouches marked “Atronaut”? I’ve always been skeptical that my local dollar store is selling NASA grade surplus astronaut meals. I’ve never been brave enough to buy these – and thankfully my kids have never asked. If you’re planning a trip to space (or know someone who is) you might want to take this opportunity to stock up. Normally priced at $5 – they’re now $ .99 plus use Coupon Code: 10618000004 For $1 Shipping & Handling.

I like freeze dried ice cream. It’s not bad!

There’s no way this can taste good. I imagine it tasting like a really dry cookie.

Hey, I can still remember my dad buying this for me at Annapolis and at the Smithsonian. I like it; or maybe I just like the memories tasting it conjures. :-)

I had some just a few weeks ago that we bought at the MOSI here in Tampa. It’s not great, but not bad. It does taste more or less like ice cream.
