AT&T just posted this YouTube video confirming the time that the iPhone 3G will go on sale as 8 am July 11. AT&T wants you to be “iReady” for the launch day. If you are upgrade eligible and your account is in good standing, you will pay $199 for 8GB (black) and $299 for 16GB (black or white). Two-year contract required. You have the option to purchase an early upgrade priced at $399 for 8GB (black) or $499 for 16GB (black or white). Two-year contract required. Coming soon, AT&T will offer a no-commitment option of $599 for 8GB and $699 for 16GB. Looks like everyone is paying at least an $18 activation fee (qualified upgraders) or $36 for new activations. Looks like they have unbundled Text messaging like I thought. Most people may have to pick up second jobs to afford a family plan, you’re looking at a bill over $200 if you have three phones with unlimited messaging. I am loving my Sprint Everything Family plan right now looking at those prices!

This is especially odd when you consider that Sprint offers a SERO plan where for $30 you get unlimited text, EVDO Rev A and 450 voice minutes (something that costs you $89 under the plans shown above.
