Belkin today released Flywire which is a wireless 5 GHZ transmitter and receiver that broadcasts your high definition video (HDTV) throughout your house. This is a great solution for anyone who is averse to ripping open walls to insert cables to reach a newly mounted thin panel TV. The unit comes with both a transmitter and receiver. The company say’s the device penetrates wall and windows easily by automtically varying the signal strength and radio frequency. Thin wall mounted televisions are great until you start to think about how many hours (or dollars) it will take to wire all those high definition components so they can reach your new TV. Sign me up for one of these asap (availability is October 2008).

Here’s a picture showing the remote on the back of the TV so that you can judge the size of it. When I looked at this image quickly I thought the guys were grilling inside their house.

does it allow for multiple receivers? i mean, could i, in theory, watch my living room home theater system on any TV in my house assuming it had a receiver?

  • Q

Has a price been announced yet?
