I’ve never been to New York City but my car and oldest son have. If I ever make it to NYC I would go straight to Katz’s deli for some pastrami.

Joe’s Noodle House in Chinatown. They have these dumplings with soup inside them that are extraordinary. There’s always a line and the place is crowded but it’s worth it.

I like to go Union Square. It has a great park in the middle of the square. The park has a little dog park which is great to get your fix on watching dogs in case miss owning a dog and you’d like to watch dogs play with each other. There are tons of places to eat. Yesterday, my wife and I went to a Barbque restaurant, Wildwood BarBQue, and then went to a chocolate restaurant, Max Brenner’s, to have some s’mores. Union square is often a place where markets set up shop with booths for local merchants: i.e. farmer’s market or during Christmas booths are set up with merchants selling different kinds of gift ideas.

Another great place in the City is Madison Square Park, which isn’t too far from Union Square. I like to go there to get a great burger and shake at “Shake Shack”. The burgers are so good that often people wait on line for an hour – I kid you not.

Another place I love is Ping restaurant in Chinatown.

They serve Dim Sum (which I’m sure I’ve spelled wrong).

Now let me describe Dim Sum (probably incorrectly)..

It’s like a Chinese buffet where the waiters walk around with the buffet items. They’ll tell you (in very broken English – which is half the fun) what each dish is. You nod your head if you want to try it. Wave them away if you’re not interested.

The price is remarkably cheap – and it’s a great way to sample a lot of different dishes.

I’m not a huge fan of oriental style food – but I love to try this at least once per year.

My favorite place — is Bryant Park. Not so much for the scenery but for the fact that it has clean bathrooms which are fairly convenient to get to. Grand Hyatt (right next to Grand Central Terminal) is a good source for bathrooms as well.

Does it sound crazy that I’m talking about bathrooms as one of my favorite places in NY? Well it isn’t as crazy once you realize that there aren’t many PUBLIC places that you can use (or would want to).
